Ive noticed some a ton of the same question posted. On one of the other boards I frequent (not fish related) they have what is called a Tech Archive this is a sticky which contains links to threads which cover some of the basic questions. I think this would be a great idea here...add stuff...

I just thought I remembered reading that somewhere and if you look their caudal fin is shaped like a nurses where the lower lobe is very small which I would assume helps them cruise the bottom. By the way what and how much you feed your sharks.?

I agree water is a good heat sink but Im only using this on a small 30 gallon right now the water temp is about 78-79 and I just want to keep it in the low 70s. I was planning to use a few of these since I can get them really cheap like 4 for 10 bucks and ill put computer fans on the back...

No they actually pull heat away they need to have a heatsink on the back to dissapate the heat. It pulls heat from one side to the other so the other side gets really hot.

I was just reading about them they seem to work buy pulling heat from one side and sending it to the other and can achieve a 7O C degree difference. I only have a 30 gallon tank and Im gonna put an octopus in it therefore Id like to chill it I just ordered on of these devices Ill keep everyone...

Ive had my sump running with a DIY overflow and 20 dollar pump for 2 weeks with no signs of problems. Worst comes to worst my pump stops working all thatll happen is flow will stop to the sump.

As long as you have a vent for the hot air to leave youll be fine in a perfect world you would have two one blowing and one blowing out.
