    What water?

Okay, so after the several years I've had a saltwater tank, I've never had to worry about this.... BUT, now I need to know what type of water I should buy to add fresh to my tank... Distilled? What??? What I've done to this point, is purchased water from my lfs... But in the last few months...

    Emerald Crab

We've suffered the same experience several times.. Purchased an emerald crab - which lived awhile and would then be found dead.... We couldn't figure it out... The emerald would appear to be thriving - and we never witnessed anything else in the tank bothering it.... and yet the emerald's...

golden wrasse in the sand forever now

My Christmas Wrasse only comes out twice a day... Seems to know when it's chow time! LOL! He will stay out in view for 1-2 hours and then vanishes once again into the sand.... But boy is he a beauty when he's out and about - and VERY active!

What happened with the HR 669 hearing?

Well, although probably an unpopular opinion - I do believe there should be SOME restrictions on importing.... Take for example Florida's invasion of "exotic pets" who grow too large for the purchaser - who then sets them free in the Everglades - creating a menace to the natural wildlife...

What happened with the HR 669 hearing?

I've been trying to google to see the outcome of the hearing... but am somewhat overwhelmed because of all the sites that merely address the issue - pro and con - PRIOR to the hearing.... No longer wanting to be frustrated, I just thought I'd ask on this site..... What was the outcome result of...

Yes, like others I do watch my fish.... Find it quite peaceful... Brings a little bit of serenity into a rather hectic life (especially after work).....

    Fish are Dying

Could it be that you're adding too many fish - either all at one time or within too short of time? (I've had a saltwater 55 gallon for 2+ years now and had to learn the hard way about fish additions...) Then again, it could be ick.... I know that for most people ick is successfully treated -...

Is there a way to tell the difference between male and female PJ Cardinals?

Apparently there is no sure fire way to determine the --- of PJ Cardinals... Online googling only produced the fact that it is very hard to distinguish... Some say the male has a longer secondary dorsal fin and/or larger mouth.. Some give the description of the female as having a "somewhat"...

Have U ever forgotton about a tank inhabitant

Just like Eric B 125, I can't say "forgotten"... guess I would have to go with "assumed dead".... A Royal Gramma almost immediately disappeared when first placed in the tank. Having read that this was common during the settling in process, initially I wasn't worried. But after several days...

    Royal Gramma

My Royal Gramma hid for a short duration of time... but now those beautiful colors are seen most of the time and he swims with the big boys! (Again, sorry for the bad pics - I love pictures, just not good at taking them! Guess that should stop me from taking them - but it doesn't!)

    Wrasse

My wrasse of choice is a Christmas Wrasse which I've had for quite awhile now... He tends to bury himself for most of the time (at least when I'm awake and/or home.. LOL!), but does appear to have some kind of schedule because he tends to be out and about every day for a couple of hours in the...

    stock list

My choice of angel would be your original - Coral Beauty - simply for more of a variety of color.... Orange will already be present by the clowns.... And since you're just getting into the hobby, I would stay away from anthias for the time being anyway.... BEAUTIFUL fish, but from what I've...

Please help!!!! I don't want to mourn a lost

What is the size of the Maroon Clown versus the newly purchased Pearlscale? Might just be a matter of stress... From what I've read, Maroons are one of the largest and most aggressive anemonefish and shouldn't be kept with smaller, peaceful fish. With Pearlscale Butterflys it is suggested...

    choc chip star eating (pictures)

Frankly, I've seen Choc Chips sporting quite a variety of colors at my lfs.... I personally waited until I saw the color I was after - the yellowish tan.... I've seen whitish, greyish, brown, tan and some like yours with a little red.....
