    Black Tip Reef Shark

jr2857: Digging up a 3 yr old thread to vent your opinion? How funny. The tank and the sharks are all doing well guys.:) The black tip, horn, and bamboo are all thriving! The food bill (sharks and kids) is definitely going up around this place! All three of the sharks are plenty fat...

    Tank Pics

Thanks to everyone who commented/complimented my tank:D Let's see here... F1shMan: Yeah, I've been in the tank several times. Only when I must, to either clean or retrieve something. Kinda cool to be in there with them, and get a fish's view:D Sharkguy22: The black tip has grown, but not as...

MorayMike, I noticed this thread right after I started a new one! Yup, still around...just not as much free time as I used to have. The sharks in the big tank are doing great. Unfortunately, the bonnethead died about a year ago while I was on vacation. :(

    Tank Pics

It's been a long time since I posted, or given an update on my tank, so I figured today is the day. I really haven't taken any new pics for quite some time, because to me, there was nothing "new" to take pics of! :) Nothing much has changed with the tank (had to replace one pump) but as you...

    Tony Detroit? Novice? Daniel411?

I'm still here:) Haven't lost interest really...just been busy as heck! Our second son was born this past June, work is crazy, and I spent the summer in a wheel chair! The sharks in the big tank are doing great, as is the tank itself. The black tip has grown, but not as much as the bamboo...

Thanks Tony! You the man:D Mattiej: Thank you. I might have been a "touch" conservative on my growth estimate...but not much. I'd say he's around 11.5"-12" now. My bonnet was TINY when I got him. He's the smallest shark I've ever owned, other than when my bamboo was born. Like yours, he...

Hey guys:) I still drop in from time to time. Work has been so busy lately I haven't had much free time. Plus the wife and I are expecting baby #2 here real soon...:D The sharks/tanks are all doing great! No problems whatsoever. The bonnet head still hasn't grown much, maybe 2" since I got...

Chevron Tangs are by FAR my favorite tang! 2nd would be a black tang. I think a Colini pygmy angel would be cool in that tank too.:)

    blue rings

There is more than one way to look at this... No, it's not for everyone, but neither is keeping poisonous reptiles! IMHO, the people who buy these kinds of animals, just for the "shock factor" and to impress their friends, are the one's who usually get hurt. Then there are people who keep...

    non-eating lionfish

I'm no lionfish expert ... but here's my .02. Have you tried feeding him silversides? Mine always went right after them. They stink to high heaven, and the "shinny" scales of the fish really seem to catch their eye. Also, maybe a couple live gold fish or guppies could get him interested...

    Official shark picture thread!

Yes, I do. But that is JMHO, as you are free to go as large as you want.:) Some say a 180 is minimum (myself included) and others say no way. I think a 300 is plenty big for a bamboo shark.
