    Id On An Anemone!!

Ditto to what Viper said. When I bought my LTA from my LFS a month ago, it was bleached. After a month under my MH lights, it has regained it's brown color. I am able to keep my BTA in my other tank under T5 lights with no problems. I know the carpet anemones need high lights like the LTA...

    Pic of my LTA

I bought this LTA, my first, on Feb 10th of this year. It took almost 2 weeks to plant itself in my sandbed, and my female Percula started hosting in it before it planted itself. I bought this LTA from my LFS that only runs T5 bulbs in their tanks, so when I got this, it was pretty bleached. I...

Start of one "BIG" SPS tank

Nice tank. Sorry to hear about your fish loss. Was your tank fully cycled when you added your first fish? I am sure you did not add your fish to quickly, ( I am always tempted to do this.) I love your Tangs. I can't wait to see this tank with all the corals in it, but as you said, the water...

Ok Today WAS the day New 29G at home!!! jy

My husband was told not to use the stress coat in a saltwater setup because of the Aloe in there. Something about it gumming up. (We do use this in our freshwater tanks though.) Maybe somebody else on these boards knows better.

    good skimmer???????

We have the Coralife super skimmer on our 20G tank and the BakpakC2r on our 40G. The Coralife is quieter than the bakpak, but both work really well. The coralife is a reasonable priced skimmer.

Clarki so cute, so nice.......ouch! ouch! ouch!

My Clarkii clown has bitten me, but not drawn blood. This activity started after I added his BTA to the tank. My Clarkii is very possessive of his home. He usually goes after me when I am trying to feed the BTA and keep him away so the BTA has a chance to eat it's food without my Clarkii...

    LTA finally planted!

After almost two weeks of roaming around my tank or simply lying on it's side in the sandbed, my LTA decided to plant itself deep into my 4+" sandbed. Early on it attached itself to one of my rocks, but then detached when I moved the rock. I bought this from Incredipet and it came as a very...

    does any use "cycle"

My husband loves this stuff and uses it with our freshwater and saltwater tanks. Not to cycle the tanks because our saltwater tanks had the live rock, sand and chromis to do that, but to just give it a boost. I am not sure that it is necessary, but I did not object when he did it. I recently...

    bubble tip

The bathroom I just thought that was funny. My GBTA does this once every couple of days. A couple of hours after going into this state it returns to it's normal looking full self. I assumed it was normal too. I have known other people to make the mistake and remove them from their tank...

    Bubble acting weird?

My GBTA also will do this every couple of days. A couple of hours later it is all puffed up and looking great again. I feed mine raw shrimp and Mysis shrimp, but now I think I might start feeding it Silversides for variety since so many people on these boards suggest it.

    BTA question

Mine does this from time to time. Just when I think it is dying or dead, it perks back up and is nice and full and healthy looking again.

    Good sign for bubble tip?

BTA's can sometimes do strange things. Mine is big now, around 6" diameter, but last night it was droopy, stringy and I thought about to die. I read somewhere not to panic because they can go through stages where you might think they are dead or dying. Luckily I remained calm and it is back...

    Wow, Percs in LTA

I know that percs don't usually host in an LTA, so I was surprised. The smaller of my Percs is now sleeping in my LTA, (the lights in the tank are off.) My larger Clarkii is in my other tank sleeing in my GBTA. It's just so cute to see.

    Costa13's Tank Shots

I do not know how long you have had your BTA, but my percs just started hosting in my LTA and the LTA has been in my 20G Hex for a week now. The process was gradual with them swimming closer and closer to it till wham, they decided to dive in, lol. I was really happy to see them hosting. In my...

    Lighting Question

I have one of these on my 20G Hex and my 40G has the white actinics. I prefer the white actinics because it looks like more natural lighting for nightime. It's all a matter of personal taste. My smaller tank has a MH light over it...

    Wow, Percs in LTA

I just got in from shoveling snow and looked at my tank to see my two percula clownfish hosting in my LTA. I couldn't believe it. I've had my LTA in my tank now for a week and slowly but surely my percs have been getting closer and closer to this new being till today when they both decided to...

rubber feet v. mounting bracket on satellite lights

That's just the way I do it. I like my lighting unit to be protected from splash when it is so close to the tank. A lot of people on these boards prefer not to use their glass canopys. I am liking my tank more and more without the canopy. In fact, it is still off since summer and my lighting...

    Green water...

I do a 20% water change every other week. I also run PhosX in my last stage of filtration. It's probably just the lights. My husband thinks it's the new light. Hopefully it will eventually go away.
