    geothermal chiller

no, I dont think it will cool very much. What would be better, is lay like 500' of a smaller pipe, so it (water) has more time underground.

how to mount a TEK 8 lamp fixture to a wall?!

If you have access to some steel, and a drill, you could easily make a few attachments that would mount to the wall, and support the light.

    uv sterilizer

You dont need one. In fact, only few hobbyists have them, and there are mixed opinions. They kill bacteria with ligh levels of UV radiation. Since they dont discriminate, Some good things may be killed to. Some people live by them, others say there crap.

    Basic Light question

Ive heard really bad things about the coralife T-5 fixtures. Check out the brand catalina. They have good fixtures (individual reflectors) for alot less than the other good T-5 lights.

    Skimmer Overflow Cup?

The most failsafe method is probobly rig all those bottles together, and install a float switch in the last one, when its tripped it shuts down the power to the skimmer.

    DIY alarm idea?

something like this would work. Its a good DIY project, easy to use, and with a convenient on/off switch. You could hook something like this up to any noise making system. http://www.instructables.com/id/Supe...le-door-alarm/

    led lumens

some of these ( http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/lig...b/images/2520/ ) might work as well. Same output as a 150w bulb. With those you might want some actinics to make it look nicer.. It would be easy to rig something like this up in a canopy, but at 100$ a pop, it might be costly.

RO/DI and fumes from heating oil

Well, I would say that keeping the water in that room (with the smell) is probably a bad idea. I was camping not long ago, and boiled some water over the fire to "sanitize" it. In a nutshell, the water tasted so badly of smoke, I couldn't even get it down if I made coffee out of it. Plastics and...

    Im So Confused On Sumps..refug...overflow...

Ok, Overflow: And overflow i a method of draining your top tak into the sump (ill cover that later) It either uses gravity, or a siphon. If you "drill" the tank, water has an easy path to fall into the bottum tank, where as a hang on overflow uses a siphon to pull the water down. Overflows work...
