thanks! idk about looks but it does seem like its going to function well! on another note i just saw one of the clown brush the back wall a couple times in a row. in my experience that means the fish is sick... i just did a water change and replaced the filter media so the water got a little...

So after looking around online and seeing media baskets for $40 and up I decided a $10 piece of acrylic from lowes sounded better. Made this earlier today. It's not pretty but it will do the job.

Could I just use the water I take out when I do a water change to cure it?

So I have this piece of dead live rock. I want to add it to the tank but it has dead algae on it, I've scrubbed it the best I could, but I'm not sure what else to do to make sure it's okay to go in. I here people talk about curing live rock but it's literally just one piece of rock..

I do have another question. I want to get one more piece of live rock, but if it has anything dead or dying on it I'm sure it will cause a spike. How do I avoid this?

I'll try and have one set up before I get more fish. Just need a tank and a heater. I have a filter already and I assume I can just use water from my main tank so it doesn't have to cycle? I'll probably just get a 2.5 gallon..

I do want a cleaner shrimp. I may get one of those in a couple weeks.

I don't have a QT tank :( they are my first fish though and I won't be getting any others for a while. So my main tank will basically be the quarantine tank. Yea I don't plan on getting anything else for a while. Maybe a couple mushrooms or zoa frags to see how they do.

FTS, ive actually had the snails in the tank for a week now. been ghost feeding as well. and levels are all stabilized. i feel comfortable getting a couple of clowns tomorrow. i think the tank is ready for it. i am also going to mount those two actinic led strips to the cover, and run the wires...
