    Web-like slime?

I am not sure what it is, but I have a guess. Do you happen to have a cleaner wrass by chance?

    Should I redo my rockscape?

I like what you have, but if you were to re-do it, I would stick with the two island idea but go with more rock stacked higher. I think you could go in each of the back two corners all the way up to the surface and do like quarter circles of rock with each one.

    Two Sick Puffers

I think only the two puffers died. It might be a bad water change too, as I believe puffers (do to the lack of scaling) have a harder time with water quality changes. This could be the culperate. They also have a hard time with treatments and chemicals so a contaminate might also be a thought.

    Two Sick Puffers

If I were you I would go up to about 1.025 for salinity. Most fish and inverts will fair far better at those levels. I think I would go with maybe a 20% change each week (or every other) until you can raise the salinity to 1.025, I would go up maybe .002 at each change if you can. Just...

    Two Sick Puffers

Is there any reason why you are keeping your salinity so low? Maybe that contributed to the problem. It could be that the clams were bad and weakened them and then the lower salinity made a bad problem worse.

    uv steralizer

I would never say that purchasing a UV to fight ich is a good idea, it just does not keep up with the rapid reproduction rates of the parasite. But to say that it does not kill ich is not correct. It does not completely get rid of ich, it does however kill the free floating parasites that go...

    uv steralizer

It should kill any living organism that is in the water column that goes through the sterilizer. It kills copepods so it will kill any free swimming ich parasites as well.

    clownfish fighting??

Because clown fish are territorial, similar to that of damsels. They are fighting over territory and food.

    Sump Design Help

I would put your sand, rock, and chaeto or any other organics you are going to add in the second chamber. The inlet side should be strictly water and maybe a filter sock and the return. You could put live rock over there as well but I would not put sand in that side. Live rock would be a good...

CUSTOM WALL BEDROOM "HEADBOARD" WITH A 125 gallon REEF TANK part.1

    Lighting out

Culp, what size tank is it in? What kind of anemone is it?

    Lighting out

It will survive until you get a new bulb, but thats not because the bulb is going to save it. The anenome needs more light than your PC light setup can supply, even with both bulbs working so it is just going to slowly die over time from lack of lighting.

    removing painted tank backing

I agree with the razorblade idea. If you are careful (and the tank is glass) you can use laquer thinner on a rag and just wipe it off if you are scared of the blade idea. Remember that this is going to get a little messy as the paint becomes mixed with the laquer and becomes watery and will...

    Sand sifting Starfish Question

What size tank? How long has it been running? What is your current stock list? How much sand do you have? What kind of CUC do you have?

    220 Stock question

Hey all, I am in the middle of restocking my 220 and was looking for a little help. The tank is a 220 gallon with a 100 gallon sump (in the process of converting to a fuge). I currently have: 6" French Angel 4" Yellow Tang 4" Powder Blue Tang 4" Blue Hippo Tang 2" Golden Head Sleeper Goby 3"...

    Sump Design Help

In my design the skimmer return could either be plumbed to go into the fuge or it could be plumbed to go into the return pump section. Either would be fine.

    sand!!

You should be able to remove all of the crushed coral because the bacteria and critters on your rock should propogate the sand in the same manner. I would just get it all out if you can. Remember to wash and rinse your new sand before you put it in so that it doesn't cloud the tank up with dust...

CUSTOM WALL BEDROOM "HEADBOARD" WITH A 125 gallon REEF TANK part.1

sounds like an interesting project, although I would look into some kind of "curtain" type structure to go over the glass while you are trying to sleep. I would imagine you will have moon lights on the tank and it would make it a little difficult to have a bunch of blue LED lights shining...

    Rejuvenate sand?

I agree with Sep 100%. If you are stirring the DSB then you are just wasting all the money you spent to buy all that sand. The object of the DSB is to create very low flow areas with little to no oxegen. This helps anerobic bacteria to cultivate and to help in de-nitrification. If you keep...
