I just got a new bulb from Fosters and Smith, an Aqualight 150 watt 20k. Inside has a pinkish and grey film on part of it. Is this normal or should it be totally clear inside?

We have a leftover Krafmaid kitchen cabinet (particleboard) , made for a corner, that I would like to put my 45g hex on. What kind of support should I add to it? The tank will take up most of the counter (not constructed yet) front to back, there will be about 6 inches of counter on either side...

I've tried the flashlight, I even tried it with red plastic over the lens like some people recommend. I usually do it a few hours after the light goes off. My water tests are perfect. Could the filter have gotten them all?

I recently added the "grunge" to my tank. The next day or so I saw "bugs" swimming around at night. Then nothing. Could they all have died, or are they being consumed by my fish to the point where they are not visible.

If you are using one can you tell me the minimum space needed? I know they are 12 or 13 inches overall, but how small of a space can I hang it on?

I have a a narrow hex tank that only allows for a 20" max light. I have a glass top on the tank, can a pendant light be set directly on the glass? Do they get as hot as other halides, would it make the tank too hot? I know they make clamp on lights but I don't have room because of a hang on...
