I could be wrong but im not sure if the saltwater would freeze. You could always freeze water in a large ziplock bag and place that in the sump

And could I add like store bought ammonia to speed the cycle? I jusy happened to have quite a bit of it.

So you guys wouldnt think the water is toxic? My only reason for putting a damsel in was to see if the water was viable. My eventual goal for this aquarium is 2 percula clowns, flame angel, firefish, and a flame hawk. Does that sound like to much for a 55?
