    Sub Sumping

Is there such thing as a protein skimmer that is self contained and can operate below the tank and NOT in a sump set-up.Or is this impossible? Kind of like a canister filter but a protien skimmer. Also, say you operate a sump set-up; what are the risks of flooding your house if the sump...

    Greens for Puffy

Anybody have suggestions on what green food my porcupine puffer might eat? He doesn't seem interested in the freeze dried algae or the seaweed sushi wrap stuff either. He spits out his tankmates flakes and or brine shrimp . He only wants krill, krill, krill... and my finger sometimes too.

    Eclipse Upgrade

I also was told not to attempt cutting my hood by the LFS because leaks would occur. Anybody had any problems with that?

    Mean Domino Damsel..

I had the same problem a few weeks ago. He had killed two other damsels and was working on a third. I took him back to the LFS and now everybody is happy and healed. I found some research studies on an internet search that showed the dominos are exponentionally more aggressive than the other...

    new puffer

Both the puffer and clown are fine. The puffer seems to ignore the clown, but the clown was acting a little miffed when I added the puffer. Both are about 3.5 inches. I did notice one of the clown's fins had a couple of scuffed-up looking marks on it soon after I added the puffer but I think he...

I've tried frozen krill and shrimp and he seems to like it - but only if I hand feed him! The first time I did this he ate 3/4 the (very...

    pecking Damsels

I'm a beginner with a tank about four months old now and have 2 damsels left (down from four) and a tomato clown. It appears that my domino has pecked two of the other damsels to death by nipping their tails and scales off. I know they do this, but does it usually end up in death? What can I do...

    diease or wound?

There is only one fish that has the lesion. He has a maybe 10 scales missing or disturbed. Two of the other damsels have a scale or two missing, and the clown looks fine. The striped damsel (in the photo) did appear dominate the tank before the clown was added. I have had a hard time finding...

    diease or wound?

I'm a newby. I've had this fish only tank for about four months. I have four damsels and recently added a tomato clown (musch bigger). After adding the clown, my striped damsel soon started to get what I thought at the time were bite wounds, but today one of the "wounds" is protruding (see...
