I sell MH retros, and a buddy of mine bought a 250W for his 10gallon nano (vice thed 175W i suggested). He said its awesome, and his small bta in it loves it. Its not unheard of, just put a fan near the tank, and mount it reasonably higher above the tank. Jasen

I have a ballast, socket, and bulb combo i can sell you for $135. Its a retrofit, so you will have to intall it in your canopy. No reflector, but they are cheap and can be gotten anywhere. Its a 175W kit, and the bulb can either be a 10K or 14K... jasenhicks AT hotmail DOT com. Jasen

The only connection to 3/4" pipe is using threads. If you already plubled it, id cut the 90 off and put a threaded 90 on in its place.

Get a locline to 3/4" MPT adapter, and use a flow concentrator to attach it. Thats what i did.

Each bend/T fitting etc will add about 1ft of head to your pump, plus the rating of the pump is for one outlet, not 4. Therefore you must apply fluid flow theory to it and realize that you are adding essentially say 4 feet of head to your pump if the 4 branches were 1ft each, and an additional...

They shouldnt cost any more than your current setup. As long as both run at their optimum power of 250W... 250W is 250W wehter its lights, a stereo, or a computer. Its all the same. THe only thing that would make it go up, is if you added an extra 250W ballast so you had say 3 vice 2.

I know for a fact someone did this with a car battery (optima), a battery charger, a power inverter and a custom built ABT switch. Ill try and find the deal on the net. OR you could just use an APS power center that you would use for your computer. Just put the bare essentials on the battery...
