With the venturi from KENT in, and the pieces all glued and cured, i hooked it up to my quient one pump, and tried it out! The 1/4" tube coming out, is the air inlet on the venturi.

The only real good way to get rid of nitrATE is water changes. It is the final step in the nitrification process... Ammonia --> Nitrite --> Nitrate. The macro algea should help it come down, it wont do it at first, you have to give it some time. There are these fancy Nitrate reducing stations...

Yeah, drippers work on gravity. So it needs to be higher than the place you are dripping it, the tank sump etc.

You will want a small power head to help push current throught the tank at inverts that need higher current etc. Id say get a medium sized power head and a hydor rotating flow director. The flow director attaches to the outlet of the power head and rotates around creating disruptive currents...

Probably need to set it so that the bottom where it passes through the water only stays submereged for a half second ... too fast will fling water, and too slow will keep it submereged too long without oxygen

uh, actually purewater aka RO/DI is probably the least corrosive substance on earth. Its all the ions in the saltwater thats corrosive.
