i was at a local home depot today and thought i would look for southdown play sand. Turns out that they didnt have any at the store, but they had a different kind of sterilized playsand. I dont really know why southdown is preferred, could someone help shed some light on this for me?

ok, i have a 20g cycling right now w/ 25lbs of lr and about 2" of argonite sandbed. the tank has been setup for 2 weeks now but the lr was just put in about 4days ago. I noticed today a bunch of little ant-like critters running around on the lr and on the substrate. any ideas on what this is...
