Yes, can you do a sump/refugium with a wet/dry with out bioballs? I wanted to build my own like you are but am a little weary. I am looking at a 90 gallon bow front. I'm a little nervous about not being able to fit a 25-30 gallon sump/refugium in it. Your plans look good.... I came across...

So I'm guessing that water goes into the overflow, fills up inside of the overflow, until it reaches the durso and then goes down to the sump? That will make things relatively quiet? What is the other hole for? The Return? I am loving you guys right now, you have no idea!!!!!!!!

Wow!! Great pic.....You dont know how many hours I spent searching old threads for that....Thanks How are you planning on doing your sump? Can a bioballs setup be used for a sump/refugium without the bioballs?

From what I gather, the bulkhead is the black 90 degree piece, with the teeth at the top, that sits in the corner of the tank with the hole at the bottom. The water flows through the teeth, down inside the bulkhead, through the hole in the tank to the sump. Correct??? I'm not sure what size...

I'm still in the process doing all my research on the equipment for my first SWT before purchasing anything. I'm a little confused how the stand pipe connects to drilled hole in the bottom of the built in overflow box. Is there some kind of special coupler? An explanation would be great and...

Help! There's a creature in my tank!

I'm a super novice but I have one question about your silk plants. Is there any any metal inside the leaf part of the plant(for adjusting the leaf shape) that might be rusting and adding harmful things to the water? Don't know if such a thing could even lead to high % fish loss. :notsure: Just...

    Sump/Refugium for 90 Gallon

The problem is it is a 90 gallon bow front. LFS measured the stand and told me that with equipment and everything in it, that i shouldnt go over a 25g. So.....Next question: If I scrap the idea of doing the refugium and just turn to doing a plain sump with baffles seperating the...

    Sump/Refugium for 90 Gallon

I understand that "bigger is better" when it comes to sumps but the physical restraints of my stand will only allow around a 25 gallon tank. Is this sufficient enough for my 90 gallon?

    Sump/Refugium for 90 Gallon

What would everyone recommend as the minimum/adequate sump/refugium size for my 90 Gallon?? **While I'm asking  Does anyone know of a link for good step by step instructions on how to build one? Thank you
