    Help with floating filter pad

I need some ideas of how to hold down a mechanical filter pad on an egg crate "shelf" in my sump. The pad fits okay at first, but after a few days it starts floating around in the sump. What could I use to weigh it down so it won't float but also won't block a lot of surface flow area either...

Which have you used? It seems the putty would be better, but does it do a better/worse job...

    Butterfly eat cleaner crew?

Hi all, total noobie here. Working on my fish stocking list for up and coming 90g FOWLR tank and I really want to get a Butterfly fish (raccoon or threadfin) but I'm reading that they are not reef safe and will eat inverts. Does that mean they will eat cleaning crew members (snails, hermits...
