My Lucky Day and an ID Question

In Rockland County NY a place near me in Pearl River sells them. When I stopped in today he had at least 20 that I saw in different reef tanks. If people want, I will post his phone number and name if I am permitted to hear, but I don't know if he ships.

    Feeding Coral

Ok... Don't mean to ask dumb questions, but here goes. It has been identified that I have astrangia in my tank, and I am slowly working toward a reef tank. Theoretically astrangia is the first coral in my tank. Running MH lights so I am all set. In the post about astrangia, it was stated to...

55Gal 48" Glass Tank in Northern NJ

A friend of mine is moving and did not want to take it with him. It was used for cichlids for almost 7 years. The Tank is in good shape, just some minor water cleaning needed. All glass tank, but due to age there is no middle bar on the tank. The cover is the old plastic type and would need to...

    What's your loosing battle?

Not sure if it is a losing battle or not, you decide. Without seeking advice first, I was offered a great deal on a Goniopora Coral (Flower Pot Coral), so I did it. I am now realizing that my chance of long term survival is less then .1%. To me this is a losing battle, but I am going to try...

    Is this normal?

Very begining SW hobbyist. My 55 gallon tank has been up and running for about 6 weeks, and had gone through a complete cycle with both fish, LR and LS. About 2 weeks ago, added in 2 Camel Back Shrimp about 3" long each. (Have been told this is about as big as they get). Have both MH lights...

    ID please??

I bought a LR almost completely covered in them. They bloom when the light is on and close up when the light is off. They look pretty cool. They haven't seemed to multiply any and don't seem to be hurting the tank.

Any Suggestion on a new Tank

Using a combination of lighting. The main light is a metal Halide plus added a flurescent blue. When I started putting the pieces together, knowing I wanted to do a nice reef tank, I spent a lot of time researching lighting knowing that would be the most important piece. Thanks

    Brown Algae

I just setup my first salt water tank. I use live sand to setup the tank and had all chemicals balanced and settled for about 3 weeks. I then added in 6 Damsels to the tank. After about 2 days, one started to die, on its side breathing hard, so I removed it. After about another 3 days added...
