Why do I need a kalk stirrer? I bought a 5 gal container with tight fitting lid. Added 10 tsp of kalk and poured 5 gal of water in and shook it for 10 seconds. Let it set for an hour and Lu my tube in half way. What's the stirrer for? The thing is my ph is not going up like I thought it would...

I don't know what others have experienced but, I have ran a low nutrient tank for years and no mater how low I kept things if my corals were growing, so too my algae would grow. If I was starving out the algae, I was also seeing stress in my corals.

Just a word of caution: algafix kills banded trochus snails. It also wiped out most of my chaeto. Which I am having a hard time to get it growing again. You might want to take some of the macro out to put back later. I used Algaefix and in 11 doses I have not had any of my banded trochus snails...
