    Worm

Wow, hard to believe that that many in one rock is normal! But oh well, I know they multiply pretty fast, at least i've pulled out alot of the bigger ones and can rest easy that no more fish will fall prey, since i've now lost 3 to them! The two left are too big for them to mess with...have a...

    Worm

Just wanted to share a pic of what I was able to get out of the one piece of LR - still numerous pieces to go but there were some pretty good size ones in the one, I poured club soda on them after i pulled them out so they are all curled up but you can see by this pic how infested my tank must...

    Worm

By the way, here's a pic of my coral beauty, it's not a good one, nor can you see the full extent of the gash on her side, but you can see a bit of it - it was quite jagged and deep, my lfs guy looked at her and doesn't think it could have been the tang as the cut was so jagged, so this is one...

    Worm

Yes, in fact i was at my lfs yesterday and he had one in stock, but i knew it was way too small for this guy. I don't know what to do actually - he said he could try to find a larger older one, but of course i don't want it to be killed by this monster...i'm going to pull out the rock this...

    Worm

Well shoot, maybe I should go with a wrasse, I like the sixline wrasse and I hear they do eat fireworms too...all I know is that I've lost 3 fish - haven't seen the fireworms eat any of them but my gobies disapeared and they were healthy - i've looked (as much as you can with all the sand & LR...

    Worm

Yes, unfortunately I'm in a catch22 position; I realize that the outbreak was caused by overfeeding which I stopped as soon as I realized I had a problem, after about 2 weeks of my cutting back on feeding, the worms must have gotten hungry and that's when my gobies disapeared. We all add things...

    Worm

Not cute little fellas are they ? Sounds like that's my best bet, now finding one is another story - I'll check here & hopefully they'll have one in stock...thanks!!!

    Worm

Well the trap didn't work, so it's either a large wrasse or arrow crab for me...if I get the arrow, once he's taken care of the worm population what is his diet? I feed formula one & two plus a little brine shrimp now & then, would this work for him as well?

    Worm

LOL! Cute! Yes, like I said, I'll hopefully catch that thing tonite & will post a pic; I've tried to find info on Eucinid worms but so far can't - we'll see what i have in the a.m. Thanks for your input - everyone!

    Worm

Oh and yes, this actually would be a fireworm, as they are all living in the LR not the sandbed....

    Worm

I'm definitely getting the arrowhead, I am convinced that my gobies were taken down by this thing & it's smaller friends I'm sure feasted as well. Since I'm quite confident that there is no mantis (haven't heard any clicking and I do check at nite every couple of weeks just because I'm...

    Worm

Yes, I believe I could actually do that, like i said, it is HUGE. If it crawls into the trap tonite I'll photograph it & post....

    Worm

Will it kill the arrowhead crab? should i get more than one arrowhead? They won't hurt my fish right?

    Worm

Yes, I thought that as well, and cut back on the amt i was feeding, plus I started hand feeding the fish so that a minimum amt of food ended up on the rock or sandbed - this was working and I was noticing the smaller worms disapearing, however the big guy is alive and well, and I'm afraid that...

    Worm

I don't know, but I have actually read on other posts on other boards that larger fireworms/bristleworms can attack and devour slower moving fish (like gobies); as for the coral beauty, maybe they didn't cause her death because there is a tang in there and he was the first suspect before my...

    Twinspot Goby disapearance

I wondered about that as well, but I haven't heard any clicking sound, although it makes more sense than the fireworms, even tho one of them is quite huge. I'm putting a trap in there tonite and see what I catch...thanks for the reply!

    Worm

Just an FYI folks, these worms have now eaten both of my twinspot gobies...I started handfeeding my fish so not so much food would end up on the sand bed or in the rock for the worms to eat and i guess they got hungry. I know there is one that is quite HUGE and I'm now in the process of taking...

    Twinspot Goby disapearance

OK, had two small twinspot gobies - and I have a HUGE bristleworm break out - yesterday my Coral Beauty died, she had a pretty nasty gash on her side, I took her to my LFS and he said that he doubted a bristleworm could have done it; but now I was checking my tank and my gobies are nowhere to be...

    Worm

I just noticed that I have alot of bristle worms in my live rock - some are pretty big too...they are living inside and under the live rock in several places throughout the tank - from what I was able to see I've got about 15 - 20 of them in various sizes...something tells me that even though...

    Spionids

I understand that these duster looking tubes are beneficial, but is it possible to have too many? I have them all over my sandbed and throughout my live rock...too many to count!
