the lights would be money for a frag tank. you can mount them however high you want so if you feel its too much light, just raise the light fixtures. you will see good growth with the 250w MH with sps/lps/softies. the plumping question... i think a mag18 will be overkill, unless you throttle it...

ditto what meowzer said with the numbers. see how 12 nassirus and 12 ceriths and 1 fighting conch do. you can always add more if they dont seem to be making a dent on the algae on your sandbed.

what do you have for a clean up crew? a good crop of nassirus snails will help. since you have a 75 gal, a conch or two would help as well.

the lights you have will work. the cal a&b will get any coralline you have grow. just remember that it is a calcium based algae so it will need the calcium or consistent w/c to keep the calcium levels up. good luck!

i would go with either a shroom or a leather (ie a colt or finger) they tend to be really hardy and easy to care for. zoos seem to be a hit or miss, same with the xenia.

is there anything else you can notice with the top/dorsal fin? any redness? ive never heard of a 'swelling' of the top fin so i dont know how to diagnose it...

been sick too many times with the normal stuff. got the 'baghdad bubble guts' a few times while deployed. there are pretty miserable in 120 degree heat. but found out last year that i have barretts espohagus. its abnormal cell growth cause by acid reflux (which was caused by stress of combat)...

nice looking tank ive heard good things about my reef creations or deltec cal reactors. ive never used them, but again have heard good things about both brands.
