You shouldn't need to put resistors in the loop. You aren't stepping the voltage up, so the led's are only gonna pull as much current as they need. Joe

Ok, i understand a little more about the LR/LS thing. What is a sump and what is it used for? Do I really need a sump for a 55 gal tank. Keep in mind that I want the tank to have a clean, unobstructed appearance.
