    Everyone please be careful

Yep. A few years ago I wired a convenient light switch underneath the tank to turn the sump off and on. I used a cheap extension cord to wire it up and while I was at work it caught on fire. I came home and the house was full of black soot and the oak cabinet was charred. For some reason the...

    tangs

Not to long ago I had a 400 gallon with the regal, powder blue, and yellow. I loved how much room my fish had and always considered that size to be the right size for tangs. Since then, I parted with all but the yellow tang, a few clowns, damsel, and coral beauty. I have them all piled into a...

    shrinking colt coral

Well Ive had this colt coral which is really two (I split it in half) for close to 3 years and at one point under CFs it was absoloutely enormous. In late January of last year I changed from a 55 gallon with 4X65 PC to a 110 with 4x65 PC & 2X 150 10K Metal Halides. From that point the corals...

    My Tanks Hot

Yeah the fan aimed directly at any water in your closed system will cause evaporation and take several degrees from the tank. I got a 110 off of ---- when I was home on leave from Iraq and inherited some 2x 150 halides and 4x65 PC's. The halides are about 5-6 inches off the water and were...

were to cut, when fraging colt corals

I honestly had a rough time rubberbanding them to rocks. They are so damn slippery. I eventually got them all to stay. I agree cut them near the V sections. Its fool proof.

    cleaner shrimp

I wouldnt jump to the conclusion that the CBS will kill it. My cleaner and CBS have lived together for years. My cleaner has no fear of the CBS and the CBS doesnt mess with the cleaner. I guess it just depends on the combination you have. I would definately try it. Brian

    new additions and questions

The sterilizer you are running will kill the phto in your tank. The sterilizer is great for freshwater but id get rid of it if you are serious about building a reef. As far as chillers go you probably will not need one with your wattage. If your house stays relatively cool then your probably ok...

    lighting advice

A 65 watt Power compact sounds about right for your tank. I f you can run both then do it but I think 65 watts is good for a 22 gallon tank. My LFS told me once that power compacts could grow 80% of what the had in their tanks and I tend to believe that. Brian
