I have relized the benifits of live rock and all i have right now is FO tank. I am looking for about 50lbs of rock that is already to go in my tank. I dont have the money for an extra heater pump and protien skimmer to cure my own. thanks if anyone has some.

My question is...WHy can a normal industral ballast for a 250W metal halide be used and just by a reef bulb. am I missing something here? could someone explain because I plan on making my own MH system soon, and need to know if this is possible or not. THanks

I have a aquaclear 150 wet/dry with skimmer, and like everyone else says, yes it sucks, i get no dry foam, only wet nasty stuff if I am lucky, and just its loud and a pain. I was wondering if i could take the basic parts from it and creat a better skimmer, such as a venturi type or...
