    Pet Smart commercial

DId anyone see this new commercial with the immaculate fish area with the friendly, well dressed employee showing a group of people how to test water? Anyone notice how dark purple that water was?

Live mysis shrimp in my reef.

I've been noticing them more and more every night I go down there with the flashlight. Is it possible they were imported as hitch hikers or did I introduce them by feeding frozen mysis? I can't see how the latter would be possible but then I learn something new everytime I come to this board...

    Brain I.D.

Okay, after doing some research it looks like I might not have a lobophyllia after all. Is it possible this is a Symphyllia valenciennesii ?

    Weird lobophyllia pics

Check the late night feeding of this beast. I came downstairs for a drink and checked the tank with the flashlight and caught my new lobo with it's polyps out. I guess it's filter feeding at night. I'm pretty new to corals so I'm not sure. Any insight would be great. Man, corals are the weirdest...

    Octopus mercatoris

This is the newest member of my ever growing creature collection. A pygmy species from the Florida/Carribean area. He's been here for about a month now and is finally getting comfortable enough to come out for extended periods. Really cool little guy. A shame they don't live longer. Sorry for...

    125 gallon return pump

My less than internet savy co-worker has recently found himself with a bad case of the salt waters (no thanks to me ) and just bought a 125 gallon tank used from a friend of his. We're in the process of setting up his filtration and we need to know what size of return pump he'll need. I'm pretty...

    Captain Paul Watson

Anyone ever heard of this guy? He's the founder of the Sea Sheperd Conservation Society. I just read a book by him. He's completely out of his mind but I admire his conviction. Anyone interested in the conservation of the oceans should check it out. The book was called Ocean Warrior. You may not...

    Deep thoughts by Jack Handy

Deep thoughts by Jack Handy [hr] You know this is kind of scary... "It is always a simple matter to drag people along whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the...

    JBJ Nanocube

A couple pics of my Nanocube as it's finally coming together. I pulled all the filter media out and put bags of LR rubble in the back and run Chemi-Pure instead and my trates are almost undetectable. The seahorse and scooter blenny both eat frozen mysis like it's going out of style so no worries...

    JBJ Nanocube.....coral suggestions

This tank has been set up and running for awhile now and I'm ready to add some easy corals. I'll give you the run down and see if anyone would like to suggest a couple of low light corals other than mushrooms. Thanks. 1 Seahorse 1 Scooter Blenny (it and the seahorse tear up the frozen mysis) 1...

    Hard "spikes" on LR

When I was moving my new tank I noticed the LR had some hard points on most of it. Now I see it is some kind of worm I guess. The rock looks like it has cob webs on it and they seem to be coming from the little spikey things on the rock. Anyone know what this is?

    Weird coral hitchhiker ID?

I just bought this 40 gallon tank and one of the pieces of LR has a pretty cool looking piece of coral on it I was hoping someone could ID for me as I'm pretty clueless to corals as a whole. It's bright green about the size of a quarter and kinda shakes with the current. This pic is under...

    Is this too much light?

    4 of a kind

This is the new deal. After I got rid of my mantis Snoopy I added a zebra moray and a harlequin tusk. Everyone gets along fine and no one has a problem eating. That tusk is a demon when it comes to eating. He just destroys crayfish, really cool to watch. Heavy bioload, I know, there's a spot in...
