Thanks Joe, My tank is nearly complete. Rather than hijacking this thread, I'll start a new one later this week showing the details of my tank. OYT

Very nice! My new tank will be mainly angels and this one just might be added to that list! :joy:

I didn't want to paint the back of my tank either but in the end, black it was! You might want to consider removable panels, which was what I had planned but having a closed-loop, it would've been difficult with two intakes on the back glass. Oh yeah, trim will make a huge difference as...

    cyano battle still :-(

Debbie, Turn your lights off for 3 straight days and then turn them back on for shorter hrs., like say less than 8hrs/day. That took care of my serious bout with cyano! Don't worry about corals or such not getting enough light cause I have a full blown sps tank and none of them were affected by...

    Waterfaller's blues

Your so-called button polyps may very well be Anemonias! Not good! A type of majano that spreads rapidly and IMO, worse than aptasia! I would remove them ASAP! Better safe than sorry! If you have Julian Sprung's "Invertebrates" book, go to pg. 62 and look at the top right picture and you...

    plz suggest a ro unit

I found the price for the 6stage, 100gpd, full setup w/spout & tank for $110. You can get the 75gpd model for $90 which is way plenty water! That's the cheapest I've found and they have great service. The typhoon looks nice but you can save the extra $100 for a good skimmer or other equipment.

    plz suggest a ro unit

I also bought a nice 6 stage, 100gpd ro/di on ---- for $125 I think. Really nice setup and quality service. I bought a TDS meter too from them and my water reads better than all the bottled water I've tested except for Aqua Fina.

    Shrooms taking over?

I've warned people about these nasty shrooms! Unless you like a lot of them, then you'll be happy when they take over your tank. I had tons and like Mark said, "if you like nicer sps", you want to keep them in check. I squirted hot kalk on mine and eventually won the war! Button polyps are my...
