I had a green brittle that ate my xenia and my colt coral (caught him eating both.) I gave him to the lfs. This was a while ago. Now I wish i'd kept him because xenia is actually a bigger nuissance than he was.

I'm about to replace my 400w 10000k Blueline Bulb. It has done o.k., but I'm wondering if there is a better brand. It's supplemented by 2 48" Uri VHO actinic 03 and 2 48" Uri VHO actinic white. Would there be any coral growth benefits by going up to a 20000k? Any suggestions on bulb brand?

O.k. It's getting old coming home from work to find one of these blowing sand from the failure of the suction cups. I have a 3" glass lip around the top of my tank. Does anyone have any creative ways to stop this?

If you leave your sand in during the move it will llok like mud after you move it. I dug a hole in the DSB to the bottom on one side and tilted it a little. Then I siphoned as much water as I could out to get all the stuff out. It'll help it settle faster.

I have a flame who leaves alone my cleaner and 2 coral banded shrimp, but to put in a peppermint would be a death sentence. He also has a taste for blue hermit crabs. He was watching two fight over a shell and when the one pulled the other out, he swept in and ate the [hr] one.

I'm not sure I understand the question. If your talking about tearing the leather off the liverock it is attactched to I would not recommend it.

The tank should not crack by keeping the sand in it, I'm assuming you have a 3-4" DSB and not like filled half way up the tank:) We put the trash cans in the back of the van then filled them up with a long hose connected to the tank. I bagged my fish seperately like they do in the store...

I bought a cool combo rock at the LFS today. I'm currently acclimating it and found this strange snail. It's fast (real fast as far as snails go) and looks kind of like a cockroach. I need to know primarily if it is reef safe. Thanks a bunch. Eric

Like wise not to come off sounding haughty, but someone in an earlier post asked if they should use a glass top to which you replied: "I use glass and will continue to (1) keep fish from jumping and (2) to reduce evaporation. With the 4-year-old (pan left), it'll keep him out of it for a while...

I think you will find VERY few if any people who have corals will use a glass top. It cuts out way to much light.
