I dose kalk every sunday and by wednesday I always see growth in my gsp. I use mrs wages pickling lime mixed with a little white vinegar and some ro water. I crafted a diy doser out of some airline tubing and an orangejuice bottle. Search mrs wages on this forum and you will see lots of info on...

IDEA ALERT: getting zoas, xenia and gsp to grow on glass

3 months ago I glued a piece of gsp that was the size of a penny to my overflow. It is now the size of a pancake and every time I dose kalk it gets bigger. It is mostly growing up toward the overflow due to the current. I am going to put a couple more gsp frags on there and hope that it will...

it will be in the Asian section by the soy sauce and ginger extract and whatnot, it is used to wrap sushi, you could probably also buy it from an Asian restaurant. My sea hare and tang pretty much live off of it but the hermits and snails along with some of the fish love to grab what ever falls off.

    sea hare care

Mine wouldn't touch the marine cuisine garlic infused stinky ones that are sold at the lfs/*****. But the nori from the grocery store is eaten with a big smile. The tang won't let anyone else near it but for some reason he likes the sea hare and just stares at him with curiosity. Its fun to watch

    sea hare care

I think it greatly depends on the type of sea hare also, the blue dot is a very cool looking sea hare but has a completely different diet and care requirements. This info only pertains to the dolabela sea hare and I made it because there isn't a lot of info out there on how to care for them...

    sea hare care

You don't need to be afraid to keep these wonderful critters just as long as you don't mind feeding them. they will also keep the rest of the reef clear of algae because after the initial feast, it does come back but if you still have your hare he will keep mowing it down for you. The sea hare...

    sea hare care

My dolabela sea hare, Jaba, is one of our favorite tank friends. He is a gentle giant that keeps my reef free of hair algae. We got him 4 months ago when we had a massive gha outbreak that turned our reef into a salad bar. We got the sea hare when nothing else would work to get rid of the...

must kill the coral banded shrimp!

I caught the murderous little monster! She zigged when she should have zagged! she is now imprisoned in my sump. I have decided to spare her in favor of trading her for something at the lfs. I think my fish are about as close to smiling as they can get!

must kill the coral banded shrimp!

that seems devious and he deserves nothing less. That being said I just want him out. I should have done this before he ate so many of my aqua buddies. If he kills my lawnmower blenny I know that I am going to tear down my reef and freaking eat him alive...and i don't want it to come to that.

must kill the coral banded shrimp!

mine came with the tank and once he was in there it was impossible to get him out. I have tried the net trick a few months ago when he ate my other chromis but he is smart and enormous. He is the biggest cbs I have ever seen and he is a sport killer. He didn't even eat much of the angel, just...

must kill the coral banded shrimp!

My giant coral bandit has killed several of my fish and all of my other shrimp along with several hermit crabs. Today he has struck again, I just watched him kill my fire angel. That was the final straw, I really liked that angel a lot, he was my friend and he was very docile. I have tried to...

possible tank trade would love advice

Yeah the faux centerpiece was a big concern of mine as well and the main reason I posted about it. Sometimes I need you guys to tell me what I am thinking. I really liked the idea of having all the drain and powerhead cords and whatnot hidden in the middle. But I hated the thought of something...

possible tank trade would love advice

Thanks guys, Seth I was hoping you would respond, you make some good points and you are probably right, I had been thinking about the stuff I would have to buy to get the tank to where I want it but hadn't really thought to hard on the cleaning, particularly glass scraping i think would be the...

tangs poo looks like a bunch of little worms

I was thinking about gut loading brine shrimp with prazipro and feeding them to the tang. My question is: Can I do this in my display? I really don't want to remove him from the reef, I am not totally convinced that he has a parasite and he still looks perfect and acts fine. He really only makes...
