    calcium level?

shoot for a calcium level 380 – 450 ppm and alkalinity 2.5 - 4 meq/L or 7 - 11 dKH! magnesium 1250 -1350 ppm get test kits for all 3 your test kit is crap... Your tank would be snowing from precipitation. I use Salifert kits very accurate and you can buy them from this site .. Good luck!

    calcium reactors

If your tank runs at a lower ph Don't use a reactor the c02 will just lower the PH further...Unless you drip kalk(raises PH) to compensate! If it runs higher, then run a Ca reactor!

    calcium ?

Your test kit is junk! If it were at 860 your tank would be snowing, precipitating! ALk at 3.31 is fine! Retest your calcium with a different test kit and then take action. Salifert makes awesome test kits but even they can ship out bad kits!

The ecosystem works fantastic, but does have drawbacks IMO.. The high iron Content of the mud helps the chaeto grow and remove nutrients like nobody's business! and the coral extension is fantastic! the drawback is that it does not buffer the system like sand does! so....I drip limewater and...
