Okay, I have recently started my tank back up after my move to GA...I have a few questions about my cycling... To start this off...I have 40lbs of live sand and 20 lbs of dead sand....I also have about 60lbs of LR...Pretty fresh, had all sorts of stuff on it when I received the box from...

Okay so I havn't posted in a while for the reason that I have moved to GA. Along with the move everything in my tank is gone except the tank and other hardware itself.... I wonder if anyone can help me find a place to buy playsand (that will work for my tank) in this area..... Also any other...

nice....considering adding any macros (grape, caulpra) it may take a little (couple of months) but you will start to notice the benefits of the fuge.... what do you have for lighting?

like the fish/corals....perhaps you may want to try to offset a arrangement of LR in either corner and then a smaller peak on either side creating a valley.....IMO:joy:

My grandparents were from Esterville...so yeah that does what size of tank are you running? it doesn't seem like the bio load is too much.... although you may want to reconsider the damsels before they get too big....the will get more aggressive the older/bigger they get maybe a new power head...

what type of lighting are you running? where about in NW iowa?

well....what type of bio load do you have on your tank? maybe there is too many fish? you may want to try some astria snails....turbo snails (but they poop alot) blue leg hermit crabs, and a serpant star (great scavangers) or perhaps you may want to do a large water change, wait 2 days and...

mechanical media (filter pads, and bio balls) can be hosts for nitrate factories. However, depending on what all you have in your tank will also play a roll in amount of nitrates. The rule that i go by is 'if you have at least 1 pound of live rock for every 1 gallon of water, then bio balls...

i know the gobys burrow/sand sift....but he puts his belly on the sand and swims real fast...which leads to a cloud of dust in the tank....and one tired little goby....:rolleyes:

okay so i have this little diamond goby (see exibit) who of course is always sifting through the sand....(cute little bugger)....but i have noticed that in the middle of the tank he is attempting to dig a trench of some sort....he scoops all the rocks up in his mouf and piles them up...so far he...

i have recently removed my 4 stripe damsel so the clowns can focus on love making....not chasing the damsel away from the anemone.:yes:

the female is the one doing the chasiing most likely....do you have a anemone? my two stopped chasing eachother after i bought a LTA.....Also, the chasing can be a form of 'courting' or flirting...

actually...this is my first fish tank EVER, my fiance gave it as a gift for graduation from college.... Needless to say, I love the hobby and learn something new about it on a daily....

Also, I have a coral beauty...but all the pics i have of her are terrible...she blends in too much with teh background.... i appreciate allof your comments
