i have spent WAAAY too much...easily thousands. both big tanks and nano...my 29G nano is easily 3500 dollars.......it will add up faster than you can imagine

i assumed the diatoms, since they said first growth....the caulpera did not grow that big that fast in a new tank, and it is the center of the pic

actually, after rechecking my references....you can drink RO/DI....what i was asking was .... is there anything in a sealife filter that makes the water unsafe for consumption....or is it a brita filter with a different sticker?

ok...4 years in the hobby and i finally got a filter....one question, i got one that makes way more than i need....can i hook it to my refrigerator and drink that water too??? should be ok right? i got a coralife filter...there is no difference between them and the commercial filters except...

some kind of algae....i think i have seen it before...i would just scrape it off

shrimp and fish flesh SHOULD be the same...but i don't know for the record i added bottled ammonia to a freshwater tank probably 10 years ago to get it cycled....i used something like 3 tablespoons for 55 gallons....and if i remember correctly it was too much.....i remember waiting longer to add...

still cycling.....keep testing....or bad test kits
