Not that I know of except they are straight pins which makes finding replacement bulbs a little more challenging, but not impossible. (Most pc bulbs are square pins)

You could go with the 10k halide and the 50/50 power compact. By the way, how deep is the tank, how many watts is the halide, and what are you trying to keep coral wise?

For the best combination of color and growth, I would suggest the 10k metal halide with actinic power compacts. The 10k bulb is bright and white/yellow (depending on the brand) but the actinic will add a nice blue look and bringing out color in you corals. HTH, Matt

I retested today and Calcium is down to 500ppm, Alk is 11dkh, and Ph is still 8. Are these acceptable levels? I've never added any supplements to the tank and I use ro/di water and oceanic salt (which is probably why I have such high calcium).

I used melafix in my tank and the corals did fine. It did make my skimmer go crazy so i had to shut it off during treatment.

I have used this product in the past to quickly cycle a QT tank. It worked for me with no ill effects. Just make sure the product has been refridgerated and that all of the instructions are followed. I believe it includes something about waiting 24 hours and not protein skimming during that time.
