Went out of town and turned off the ac. House must have got a little warmer than normal and so did my tank water. Now I have this purple/reddish alge on the gravel. Everything else is fine. I keep vacuming the gravel during water changes to get it out but it is back in 24 hours. Any suggestions...

I found what looks like a tiny clear starfish on my lr. Found it last night and wasn't sure if it was something growing or an animal but it seems to have moved up the rock a bit today. I can't get my camera to focus on it because it is so small. Any ideas.

What are some of the larger reef safe fish? I have a 125gal tank and can't find much that is "reef safe" except for the Tangs.

I am going to be stocking a 125 gal. reef tank and looking for advise. Seems most good reeef fish tend to be small. Anyone have any ideas on slightly larger fish that are still reef safe.

Does anyone have any experience with compact lighting. My local store dealer who has always been very good on advise is trying to upgrade me to them. They supposedly are as good as twice the rated wattage. Thanks
