I was recently reading about wet dry filters and I heard that they are not good for reef tanks because they produce alot on nitrates. I was just wondering if anyone heard this as well ,or if they had a comment on it thanks .

I live near a large fresh water beach and I was wondering if i could use the sand from there in my salt water tank?

Do I need a skimmer on a fish only tank if so what type ?

Just started looking at saltwater tanks and i don't know much about them at all just wondering if some one had some advice for me to make it easer I haven't bought anything yet just trying to get to know abaout it a bit more thanks.
