Has anybody ever seen a white corraline algae? In my newest tank, I mixed cured and uncured LR. The cured was covered with purple and green corraline, the uncured was bare rock. Now that the tank is maturing (8 weeks) the corraline has spread to the uncured, with large patches, about 6 inches...

Shouldnt I be able to look into my reef with a red lens without the critters scrambling? I though red light couldnt penetrate water very far, so most sea critters couldnt see red light. But, Peering into my reef with a red lens still sends the creatures, like the 3/4 inch white/opaque shrimp...

What do you guys do with your powerheads in your reef tanks at night? Do you turn them just down, or all the way off, and let the fish rest and let the filter still cycle water?
