    Project 300 is underway!!!

Wow, that looks really good. I enjoyed the video. I like how the clown just disappears into the anemone. Is the strength of the current on the anemone the usual preference? Is that how strong the water movement is through the whole tank or did you put the anemone in the strongest flow? I like...

    Beautiful starfish picture.

this is true. but the overwhelming numbers that are occurring now are causing MUCH more harm than good. I understand the HOW of they're overwhelming numbers but if something isn't done to get rid of a very large majority of them they'll eat the entire Barrier Reef. Not in our lifetime, well, not...

    Beautiful starfish picture.

Vital how?? Marine Bioligists everywhere are trying to find something to kill them off with! other than the individual injections they're using now. They're as useful as a mosquito!

    Project 300 is underway!!!

Rob, I noticed that you don't have any sand on the bottom. I figured maybe you were planning on staying "bare bottom" but wanted to mention it anyway. Was your other tank bare bottom as well? What do you find to be the best things about the bare bottom tank? (other than no sand in the magnets...

    Project 300 is underway!!!

Hey Rob, Your tank looks AWESOME, I am so jealous, really. I'm sure you already have thought of this but I feel inclined to say it anyway, be SO careful with cleaning magnets on your acrylic. One tiny piece of sand or anything at all gets in there and it will scratch the heck out of the tank...

    My 180 Reef

oh heck yeah. They have shark dives there as well. I wonder what the policy is there for catching fish for a tank. A lot of places have strict restrictions about taking fish. Size limits, etc. :notsure:

    My 180 Reef

Yeah! I saw that on a tape I borrowed from a friend of mine who owns a Dive Shop. It looked pretty cool. A shark dive in Bimini looks pretty good too. It's a bit out of the way of the Canal but it would be worth it I'm thinkin.:jumping:

    My 180 Reef

Hey Dog, you ever see any of these at Exotic Aquatics? I can't seem to find them ANYWHERE on the net. Even the pages that pics of various gobie colorations do not have pics of this one. GEEZ, is it THAT rare?? I really don't want to go to Cali to catch my own. Hey Noob, can you get a boat for...

    My 180 Reef

Actually, I got the pic from a site of an lfs that Dogstar goes to in Broward county. I want to find out what the heck it is so I may be able to find one. I tried calling the lfs a couple of times but I only get their machine. I figure someone there MUST know what the heck it is! Isn't he...

    ~~catch your own

First I want to point out to Nikolai that if done in a humane way, catching juvies in the wild and putting them into a large, well-maintained tank is in not cruel. Even many of the commercial fishermen who are catching them for the lfs's are being much more humane and going through proper...

    live rock base

TQ, It sounds like a lot of PVC. The purpose of using 2" high pieces is to have a sturdy base for the base rock and to allow the critters to dig under the sand without fear of anything collapsing on top of them or hitting the glass which would in turn, break your tank. Is it wobbly? I'm trying...
