If you use both at once it'll likely stress the fish so bad it'll die. Pick one. And, do your treatments for at least 7-10 days AFTER your fish looks fine and healthy.

Yes, and all of these flooding issues can be addressed by drilling 2 holes in your piping about 1/2" below the water line both in the main tank and in the sump. That way water can only drain down to the holes before the pump just sucks in water. And think about it, bubbles in your tank are way...
