    goniopora receding (found a worm)

It's a blue tailed syllid worm. They are often seen on Goniopora, but not known to be harmful to them; although, they can sometimes irritate the polyps and cause them to retract. You say the tissue is receding slowly, then you say it is receding rapidly ??? Starvation will cause the tissue to...

    Coral ID please

It is Goniopora stutchburyi. It has the smallest polyps of all Goniopora species. 1.5mm - 2mm diameter. Polyp size compared to the common "green" Goniopora. HTH!

    goniopora

Unfortunately, it is "brown jelly". The tissue has gotten infected and is now rapidly rotting away. In your situation, it looks too advanced to have much hope for the remaining tissue. You can try treating it with an iodine dip, but it will probably return quickly. Once the infection is that...

    ID needed Goniopora?

Hey Toona, Would you mind if I use the picture of your Goniopora on my web site? I would have asked you in private, but I have no way of contacting you. I really like that 75g MegaFlow tank. That is going to be nice with your "reef" in there! TIA

    ID needed Goniopora?

It sounds like your goni is doing very well! On the other hand, you'll probably have to sacrifice one or the other fairly quick. I'm in the process of consolidating several tanks into one and the clowns were the very first thing I sold. There are A LOT of posts in different forums where...

    My gonio "fragged" by itself!!!!

It is polyp bail-out or possibly a very early developed bud that is being dropped. In this instance, it has occurred due to stress, but it doesn't mean that your coral is dying. They just do that sometimes when they are moved to a different tank or are shipped. I've had several do that. I've...
