    sump question

I understand how my main tank will not "lose" water from evaporation. That the water will evaporate from the sump but, not sure how the water will flow over the baffles when I lose water from evporation. I know I need to keep it topped off but I will lose some water every now and then. Even...

    sump question

I just picked up a 30 gallon sump from a lfs. It only has one baffle in it and I was wandering if I should add more or if this is sufficient? I don't have the money for my overflow or return pump yet but I want to have the sump ready when I do.

I have entirely too many tanks!!!

At 1 time I had 2-55 gallons, 2-29 gallon, 1-20 gallon, 1-10 gallon, and 1-125 gallon. All salt but for 1 of the 55s. The maintanence on them burnt me and my wife out. Then our tanks starting getting run down and fish started dieing. I started giving tanks away and trading for some things. I...

    white things?

I think I have had these before and they eventually started appearing on the glass. They kinda look like a thick, short piece of string rolled up. I never could find out what they were, other than a type of worm.

    ? on plants

I don't know the answer but I have a guess. Aquariums are shallow compared to most of the ocean. I have had those plants before but couldn't keep them planted. I think somthing in my tank kept knocking them over or it could be because I had crushed coral at the time.

    125 owners lights

I was wandering what lights you have on your 125 gallon tanks for reef. Here is the one I have been looking at. Any comments on this unit? "Space-saving unit performs the job of three different fixtures. Combines 10000°K HQI double-ended metal halide, actinic blue compact fluorescent, and 1-watt...

    Please answer this question

Just make sure the fish aren't to small or the eel will eat them. Make sure you keep the top sealed good or the eel will jump out. I'm sure you have heard that before but they will find the smallest whole and jump out.

    what's the best/easiest way to....

Even though you aren't worried about evaporation I wanted to share some of my experience. We bought a cool mist humidifier and my evaporation rate dropped dramatically. Instead of adding 1 gallon a week in a 20 gallon tank it was more like a gallon every 3 weeks. It made a huge difference. Also...

    Hi

Hi I am new to this site. I started my first saltwater tank about 5 years ago in a 10 gallon tank even though I was told I wouldn't be able to do it in such a small tank. I have been out of the fish hobby for about 9 months now. I am getting ready to get back into it and was wandering if the...
