Taking votes...scrape the back or not???

I vote no. Although it is truly a personal opinion, I like the look of all the "stuff" on the back. As long as I can see through the front, I'm happy! Nice looking tank, by the way. How do you keep your sand so white?

    copperband butterflies

Mine also liked freeze-dried tubiflex worms as a snack. Lost him during a 3 day power outage due to an ice storm. Now I have a generator for those kinds of emergencies. The worms are the first thing I ever got him to eat.

    Looking for Xenia in SC

Thanks reefer, but I was really hoping to find a local trade since xenia does not ship well. No one in SC has some Xenia they'd like to trade? Here is what I have to trade for it...blue shrooms, red shrooms and yellow polyps. I also have GSP (not pictured). Let me know if anyone is interested.

    Looking for Xenia in SC

Hello All. I am in SC and would really love to take some rapidly spreading, pulsing xenia off of someones hands! Since xenia does not ship well, I'd rather do a local trade in SC or somewhere in quick driving distance (not more than an hour and a half) from Columbia, SC. Here is what I have to...

    Website Host Suggestions?

I think that 1and1.com is the best there is. They are really inexpensive ($2.99 a month, yep that's all!!) and you get a free domain name and LOTS of great tools. They even submit your website to all of the major search engines (plus many I'd never heard of) once a month. You also get 600 free...

Non active tank for 2 months

Was filtration running the whole time? If so there is no need to start a cycle as your tank is already cycled with the LS. As with any new tank, though, don't add all of the new tank critters at once because the tank needs to adjust to the new bioload.

    Weird Critter

Kind of look like q-tip sponges. If that is what they are, then they are harmless and their population will grow and decline depending on the nutrients in your water.

    Koi/Fish Ponds

Lots of great suggestions! Let me do a little more research and come back with some "intelligent" questions. Glad to know there are people willing and able to help me with this new project!

Mine also has the hint of green. I've had him for over a year now and it's always been like that, so I guess that is just the way they are...

    Koi/Fish Ponds

    Is my brain dead?

Don't get rid of it yet. I had one that exposed some skeleton and then bounced back. The other half still looks pretty good. Pay particular attention to the brain about an hour after lights out. He will probably be fatter and more puffed up...especially if he is hungry. Drop some food on him...

    Best sand sifter?

A Sand Sifting Cucumber did wonders for the sand in my tank. They are very peaceful and eat sand all day long. They also poop sand which is funny to watch! Ok that was a little gross! Mine does a great job of covering the entire tank and cleaning the sand. Unlike some others, they don't make a...

What is this in my tank?

Congrats you have a Sea Hare! They are REALLY good algae eaters. If you don't have lots of algae, though, or a really big tank, you should probably sell him. He will starve to death in no time. Some people will pass them from tank to tank to clean up everyone's tank on the block and keep them...

    Purple tube worm

Looks more like a Tube Anemone. They sell them on this site, but they don't say anything about them. Look in "Inverts" section to the left. I think I've heard they do not require strong light like regular anemones, but other than that I don't know about them.

Have a problem with Torch coral need help

Sounds to me like it was pooping. Many people get scared the first time they see a torch coral "releaving itself." Brain Corals are also famous for causing a new owner a little panic when they first see it poop.
