    Clownfish Mouth Problem

Yesterday noticed my clownfish acting weird, it was hiding under it's anenome not really swimming in it or around it. When i saw the fish it's lips were really puffed out like it had collagen put in them and it wasn't closing it's mouth. Then saw it sucking on little nobs of it's anenome...

    Coral Banded ?

I only have 3 fish right now, a false perc clown, a purple tang and just got a diamond goby. As soon as the goby went into the tank it was doing good, eating the sand hanging out. Saturday everyone looked good. Sunday the clown looked a bit chewed up in the fins, didn't see the goby all day...

New BTA - on the move?

We just got a new bta yesterday and it has been on the move since it was put in our tank. Is it normal to move around so much and what is it looking for? We had a carpet for a long time, but just kept losing too many fish to it, so we traded it for a bta, but not used to the anemone on the...

    Apstasia ?

Are they capable of moving from rock to rock? I swear one of them that we have tried to get rid of has moved 3 different times and always after we try to kill it. Is this possible? We really only have 3 big ones, so it's easy to keep track of - for the moment.

    Anenome ?

My large carpet anenome ate a medium size zebra snail on saturday ($3.00 not well spent as it had just been added to the tank) and I thought it would spit the shell back out, but haven't seen it yet. Does anyone know if it will digest the shell or spit it out?

    New fish swimming upside down?

Just bought a blue hippo tang on Friday and this morning it is whitish and swimming upside down, still has an appetite though. Is this ich or marine velvet? And is this fish too far gone or can it still be saved? Already in a QT tank and have started lowering the salinity.

    Bristleworm pics

We tried everything to catch this worm and nothing worked, (most of our snails got eaten as well as a beautiful clam, which was the last straw) so we finally decided to break apart the rock it lived in and this is what we found. I accidentally ripped a couple of pieces off trying to pull it out...

    Clam question?

Can a clam survive without it's foot? Do they have the ability to pull them inside their shells? Can they regenerate a foot? I just bought a crocea clam a couple of days ago and it looked great, but this morning it was on it's side and I don't see it's foot. Thanks

    Can't catch my bristleworms!

Does anyone have any tips on catching bristleworms? I know the small ones are beneficial, but we have spotted a few really big ones (at least 3 inches and we didn't even see the end, the rest of it was in a hole). We bought a bristleworm trap and have been putting the mealworms that came with...

    Clarkii Question

We have a pretty big Clarkii and it has a huge green carpet anenome, but it will also bite onto a piece of LR and swhish it's tail around to kick up a virtual sandstorm. Is this normal? We have hills and valleys in our LS.

Will a green carpet anenome eat a mushroom coral? My anenome has moved into a position so that it is touching some mushroom corals. Anyone know? Thanks

    Peppermint Shrimp Opinion

I bought 2 small peppermint shrimp (didn't have full colors yet) almost 2 weeks ago. Acclimated them for a little over 2 hrs. Have not seen them since we put them in the tank. We also found 2 huge bristleworms the day after we put the shrimp in. We have a Clarkii, black percula, wrasse...

    Refractometer ?

I just received my refractometer in the mail this morning, read the directions and when I looked through it the measurement piece was upside down, everytime I adjusted the focusing lens the measurement piece moved around (very loose). I've never used one before and want to make sure that it is...

    Is this a disease?

I am attaching 2 pics of our clown. We bought the tank used and they said it has been established for 6yrs. I just noticed this on the clown and I think it is getting worse. Does anyone know what this is? Is it a disease? It lives in a green carpet anenome and he whipped all the sand away with...
