    brad, just a thought, set up a temp (i.e. 10 gal), for him, make sure YOU LET THE NEW SALTWATER SIT FOR3 HRS before ADDED!! new salt is caustic, that maybe the cause.

    Fish only?? u can go as low as 1.017, trust me im doing it, that is the salinity of a fish, so it reduces stress of trying to accomodate higher levels. reef? Thats another matter.

    that lighting is fine for just rock, but is it a reef? If it is, I highly recommend skipping VHO and buying instead compacts. They put off the spectrum, enough light (vho's dont do foor aropoa), and dont raise tank temp.!!
