Is my open brain coral growing? I thought they divide when they grow? The first picture is fully opened when I first got it. About 1 month ago. The second picture is fully opened today.

I caught this on a reef off the coast of South Florida today and have no idea what it is. I've looked all over the internet and havn't been able to find anything. Does anyone know what this is?

I found some pretty good deals on a 2 x 150 watt MH system and a 2 x 70 watt metal halide system. I also have 150 watts of Actinic VHO's. Should I go with the dual 150's or the dual 70's? They are within $10 of eachother. One difference is that the 150's would have 2 seperate ballasts. This...

I have a 30 gallon tank (36" long). There will be 150 watts VHO actinic. What would be better, 2 x 70 watt MH or 1 x 175 right in the middle?

What do you think would be a better fish for a reef tank: a Purpleback Pseudochromis or a Royal Gramma? I have 2 clowns and a damsel in there now.

The Torch Coral and the Sabae are the new additions. On the bluer shots, I messed around with the white balance settings on the camera. I was able to get better macro shots by adjusting the white balance. Good to know if I play around with the camera long enough, I get good shots.

Does anyone know if anyone makes a 175 watt 10000K - 20000K MH bulb in a medium base?

Why is my peppermint shrimp attacking my torch coral? He just seems to tear it apart piece by piece. I thought they were reef safe.

Can cleaner shrimps and peppermint shrimps cross breed? The reason I ask is that my one cleaner shrimp is pregnant and I don't have another one.
