Anyone ever use silicone to glue rock together?? I just bought an 210 and the guy gave me about 150lbs of dry dead base rock. i know silicone is safe, but will it hold securely?? Also when plumbing a closed loop should each side from the pump have a ball valve and a union??

i have a very irritating problem. the water in my dt evaporates and the water in my sump always stays the same. shouldn't my sump show the evap? i have a 65g dt and 30g sump/fuge. mag9 as the return pump. and 1-1 1/2" drain w/ a ball valve. any ideas? Just tired of having to put my top off...
