I put the broccoli in the microwave with a little water for about 30 seconds. Soak it in vitamins and feed it to the tangs. They eat it down to the core. Has worked for me.

Used bio balls in two different wet dry set-ups with no nitrate problems. The 90 gallon has been set up for 5 years with deep sand bed and a wet dry for filter. 10% water change monthly and never had a nitrate prob.

Should be able to run either light set up. The HQI's are nice lights. They fan vent out the top which keeps them fairly cool. THe PCs produce no real heat. If you want to go with corals later I would opt for the HQIs.
