Mine is more like the round one (1st pic). It sits in the sandbed under 96W PC 50/50 and is in an 18 inch tall tank. Two days ago I put it through a minute-thirty and 3minute-thirty freshwater dip to kill some huge worms. Today it is doing wonderful. I love my galaxea.

You'll be glad that you go with higher output lighting. If your 55 is a standard 48" in length go with sunpod, orbit, or coralife.

I have a 15 Gallon High, I run a AquaClear HOB Filter with carbon and chaeto and an Aqua C Remora Skimmer. Edit: Each hanging on back, HOB filter on the left with full flow, and the skimmer on the right, with an AquaClear20 PH at half power, right under the skimmer output to break up bubbles.

Is the reddish film cyano? It could be strangling the coral as well.

Good luck with the trap. I think bristle worms are gross. I know I have some but they are small so I don't worry about it. If I ever find any that are that big, in goes the trap.

Water change highly recommended. I would definately invest in some good testing equipment. Hope he's okay

Make sure your tank has enough filtration for food to sit in it over night. Obviously don't put a ton in. I wouldn't think it is much of a problem but just some cautionary advice. Good Luck.

I would recommend no bubbles.

PVC pipe 1/4" drill holes into it with a drill bit and put end caps on the end. Inside the pipe put some food and panty hose. Leave it in over night. They go in through the holes, looking for the food and get stuck in the panty hose.

Your cleaner shrimp is having babys. I don't think any of them will survive but I suppose it's possible.
