I have used the superglue gel to do what you are looking to do.. It doe require that you hold the coral in place for about 40 sec underwater but it will work....

I've used the superglue gel on corals.. it does work under water, you will just have to hold it in place for about 40 sec though.. outside of the water it will set in about 10 sec.....

You would be better off sticking with the shrimp and time... I"m not a fan of any additives that supposedly hasten the cycle period.. In the 30 years I've been doing this, I've tried a few, and they always caused more problems then they solved. Throw in another raw shrimp and wait. Your tank...

Some tanks take upwards of 8 weeks to cycle... Was that a raw shrimp that you added? If so, have you left it in the tank and whats it look like... normally when the shrimp starts to look hairy and begins to break down, you will begin to see the ammonia rise. It will happen....

I agree with sepulatian, it does sound like acclimation shock.. Did you drip acclimate the fish and star? Also could you post your levels.

Bio balls, without maintenance can cause your nitrates to rise. I usually rinse about 1/4 of my bio balls with every water change.. Use the old tank water to rinse the balls in.... If changing the bio balls for live rock, do it slowly...to give your live rock in the DT a chance to keep up with...
