After you shut down your Diatom what do you do, just leave it or what?

I just got my new Diatom filter read the manual and got it running ok. Had a leak at first and put pressure on pump and tightened screws and leak stopped. Occasionally get a whoosing sound and a small amount of air bubbles out the exhaust. Any clue as to how to stop this?

I have a vortex XL and my label says if your tank is more than 25 gallons you may run it continuously. At least that is what I intend to do. :happyfish
