Like is said I don't know 100% yet on how all filtering translates just yet. But I use no carbon in any of my FW aquariums! Most of the time it can cause more problems than it helps. It has a specific purpose. It's ment to remove meds, and other things that may have been added to the aquarium...

Ok. I didn't think the little scraps of food the fish missed would be enough. So these guys don't require a lot of food then? Maybe small piece of fish or shrimp every couple weeks to supliment his diet.

Through some reading I was able to find out that he eats, dead snails, shrimp, fish, so on and so on. So I gave him a small piece of thawed frozen fish, he opened up got super excited and ate it up! I gave him another small piece tonight and I didn't see the same reaction, he opened up but...

Oh I could have worded that differently. The fish I picked out are reef safe.

Ya I figured I could do those fish and that was about it. And I would like to do some corals, I just don't have any yet! And to my knowledge everyone is reef safe aside from the cc starfish, who can be re homed when corals are introduced.

Ok so my new 29g is up and running. Water conditions are all right on the money. Ok to the meat and potatoes. I currently have in there now, a chocolate chip starfish, a neon dottyback, a greend banded goby, and a the clean up crew. I have a cleaner shrimp and a couple hermits. What's a handfull...

I like your set up! I just set up my first salt tank a short while ago and is also a 29g. It's not a biocube though. And I don't know a huge amount about how or if at all the difference in filtering media. But the I do know that the rock will take care of the bio filtering. My filter is set up...

I do have a second 10g tank set up right now. It's only set up currently because I was given too much rock and sand. The rock fills the 10g tank!!! I'm not sure what Im going to do with it yet. Maybe a invert tank. I might sell it, trade it, I'm not sure yet.

Thanks! I'm pretty happy with it. And ya in the picture the surface looks calm but it does turn pretty good. I do think I'm going to look into another power head though. The ones that's in there is a 400gph, but I'd like to have one to point more at the surface.

Ya I reread and forgot to mention earlier on that all of the rock and sand came from a tank that was several years old. It was taken out and within a couple hours it was in my tank.
