True you can't really over filter the tank, but I wasn't sure if the filtration was prevent beneficial bacteria from growing. No that is makes much of a difference but my tank is the 5ft long 120 gallon.

Well according to my API test I would say about 40 to 60 ppm, but honestly I do think it is much higher maybe closer to 80 to 100 ppm.
