I live in South Florida and we have power outages all the time..In the short term its not really an issue. For long drawn out power outages..(like a hurricane).I have a generator..but for shorter times I have a 1000 watt inverter that you can attach to your car/truck battery and plug whatever...

I have the skimmer, chiller, and 2 dosing pumps hooked up so far! Still working on getting the main pump and lights hooked up..This thing is very cool, I highly recommend it.

JD, I got mine a few weeks ago also..Was out of town on vacation so I havent had a chance to play with it much... I will install the salinity probe next water change...I use NSW so, when I get my fresh salt water, Ill check it with my refractometer, and hopefully adjust it accordingly..Go on...

I know there are 2 schools of thought on them.. I used to buy and sell aquariums and equipment as a hobby and make a little extra cash on Craigslist..I would keep what I needed and re-sell the rest. Great way to make a few bucks and acquire things needed for the hobby if you have the spare time...

My ancient turbo twist died... Apparently the new coralifes are junk...Any suggestion for a 150? Ive heard Aqua and TMC Vecton are good...any suggestions appreciated.

Anybody running these? Looking for some input. I have had numerous powerheads from them, been pleased overall with them..currently running 4 Evos on my 150. Thinking of trying these out but have read mixed reviews...

I recently had a leak in my 130....long story short, was able to save most everything... Upgraded to a 150... Not as nice as my 130 was at one time,but I am getting there...I have a few old threads on here if you want to search it for the old tank..had this (well not this exact tank) system...

I have a JBJ Arctica chiller that I want to use with a Ranco control unit...but the JBJ has a built in temp sensor to switch chiller on and off... How do I connect the Ranco to the chiller? Im guessing I need to open it up and disable the temp probe inside the chiller or is there another/ better...

Before I had my own RO system,I used to frequent the one close to my house...Always had good luck with it...Mine actually had a log,on which they wrote the days and times the filters were serviced...not sure if it were true though..but never had any issues..

This would work fine...just not for my system...I dont have an area to drain the water to...but I like the theory better than the one pump putting water in and another pump taking water out idea.......This would be the way to go IMHO...EVEN if the pump got stuck in the ON position...and pumped...

it is a protein skimmer...not sure what brand/type
