    Free tank in Derby CT!!

Sorry I don't have any pics but I can tell you that my rock does have a small explosion of bubble algae that you'll probably want to clean off before putting it in your tank. Other than that the fish are as healthy as a horse. My light balast bit the dust so my lights have been off for a few...

Help! I was cleaning my tank about a month ago and now my overflow has a constant flushing noise. It had never done that before. I am so annoyed by it. I replaced the overflow thinking there was algae buildup where I can't clean and replaced the pump used for the continuous siphon. The only...

    Dead Tomato Removal?

My tomato clown died during the night last night and when I woke up my cleaner shrimp was going to town on him. Do I need to remove him or will my cleaners and crabs finish him off? Also he's way behind a rock so I would have to move half my tank around to get him out....am not sure it's worth...

Could not using a skimmer have anything to do with out of control cyanobacteria?

I have cyphoned the cyano about three times along with taking all the rock out and scrubbing it with a brush. All three times the tank looks awesome when I'm finished, but after about a week it all grows back. The only thing that I can think of that could be the problem is the live sand that I...

Could not using a skimmer have anything to do with out of control cyanobacteria?

I didn't think it was that drastic to use a protein skimmer. I am having a horrible time trying to get rid of this cyanobacteria. I have been fighting this battle for about a year now and am about ready to dismantle my tank and get rid of it!! I haven't really been able to enjoy my tank...

I was wondering this because cyano is a bacteria and doesn't the UV light kill ALL bacteria in a tank? And if so, why hasn't anyone else ever thought of this? Thanks
